OPINION: Liberal Party candidates don't even know what their policies are...

Well, isn't this refreshing? The mainstream media actually doing their job and putting pressure on the Liberal Party candidate for Greenway; Jaymes Diaz, who couldn't so much as name any of his party's "six point plan" other than "scrapping the carbon tax" or "stopping the boats" - even when the reporter asked him on multiple occasions to do so. Jaymes Diaz didn't even need to go into detail - all he had to do was name the six points and he failed at even doing this.
It is even more ironic that he was clutching onto the Liberal Party so-called policy pamphlet; "Real Solutions". He could have easily opened up the pamphlet, read out the six point plan to the journalist and be done with it. With that being said, a candidate has to actually show that he believes in his/her own policies; while adding their own creative and personal twist to them. Just reading the policies straight from the pamphlet would not suffice.
To be completely honest though, this is nothing new from the Liberal Party; and this even goes all the way to the top. Tony Abbott has had more than his fair share of blunders, not answering questions when they are asked of him. Even so much as just standing there, nodding his head in stunned silence.
This begs the question - what were the Liberal Party (or more specifically, the local branch) thinking when they pre-selected Jaymes Diaz to stand again for the seat of Greenway which he stood for, and lost to, Labor's Michelle Rowland in 2010. This seat is one of the most marginal seats in Australia, held by only a 0.9% margin - surely the Liberal Party could have come up with a better quality candidate to contest this seat.
Still though, this blunder could have just literally given Michelle Rowland a second term; and could have very well prevented the Liberal Party from forming government. And just like the rest of us, it seems that even the Liberal Party candidates don't even know what their policies are.
